Prospect Mt. Veterans Memorial Highway & 100 Mile View
Distance from Campground - 10 minutes one way
From Lake George Escape, go right on East Schroon River Road and then right on Diamond Point Road to Route 9. Go left on Route 9 south through the village of Lake George to Prospect Mountain state highway entrance on your right. Follow 5.5 mile 2-lane highway to parking lot. Views of the Green Mountains, White Mountains, New York's Adirondack High Peaks and Lake George Village backdropped by the Black Forest all possible from the 2000'+ summit.(Fee charged per car)
Warrensburgh to Indian Lake
Distance from Campground - 2 1/2 hours round trip
From Lake George Escape go right on East Schroon River Road and then right on Diamond Point Road to Route 9 north through Warrensburgh to Route 28 northwest. Several good outlooks and views from the Hudson River to the North River. From there drive through Siamese Ponds Wilderness Region to beautiful Indian Lake. Turn left at Sabael (Route 30) to state overlook.
Lake George to Hague
Distance from Campground - 2 hours round trip
From Lake George Escape go right on East Schroon River Road and then left on Diamond Point Road to Route 9N north along Lake George Shoreline to Bolton Landing. Take right at Veterans Memorial Park Drive for incredible lake scenery. Then Route 9N north over Tongue Mt. to Silver Bay and continue to Town Park in Hague.
Brant Lake to Hague
Distance from Campground - 2 1/2 hours round trip
From Lake George Escape go right on East Schroon River Road and then right on Diamond Point Road, take right onto Adirondack Northway (I-87 north) to Exit 25. East on Route 8 to the hamlet of Graphite. Then a short and curvy drive downhill to Hague Town Park for spectacular views of Lake George.
Lake George to Chestertown
Distance from Campground - 1 1/2 hours round trip
From Lake George Escape go right on East Schroon River Road and then right on Diamond Point Road, north on Route 9 to the charming town of Chestertown. At Route 8, turn left on Routes 8/9; continue on Route 9 around beautiful Loon Lake. Stay on Route 9 into Pottersville and I-87 Exit 26.
Lake George to Lake Placid
Distance from Campground - 4.5 hours round trip
From Lake George Escape go right on East Schroon River Road and then right on Diamond Point Road, take right onto Adirondack Northway (I-87 north) to Exit 30. West on Route 73 through Keene Valley into the Adirondack High Peaks. From there travel through Cascade Pass to Lake Placid where you can enjoy the Olympic Tour and the Lake Placid Olympic Museum.
